This project theme has developed from a live brief with the National Trust that was set throughout my studies at New College, Swindon.
I began by researching into National Trust properties and landscapes before finding a love for the greenhouses and orangeries that can be found within some of the landscapes.
I was drawn to Calke Abbey orangery by the ageing peeling blue wallpaper, glass arching windows and botanical forms inside, that seemed to take over and envelope the building.
Using my visual research into Calke Abbey and various other National Trust Greenhouses and Orangeries, I began painting and drawing, building up a body of work that I could then scan, and digitally create compositions of patterns and designs.
The designs I created were digitally printed onto fabrics and made into a selection of cushions, designed for conservatory and summer house interiors, and garden furniture.
Digital visualisations of designs used for home decor, garden tools and wellies.
