In June 2019, I exhibited the work I had created as part of my degree at New Designers, in the Business Design Centre, London.

The research for my final major project primarily comes from Kew Gardens, a place that has always inspired me creatively.  I wanted to capture the amazing combination of the overgrowing, organic forms of plant life, in contrast to the intricate iron structures that house the other-worldly environments.

I've always been drawn to the theme of architectural structures and nature, and was a theme I initially began exploring throughout my National Trust Live Brief.

For the exhibition, I created a number of digitally designed patterns that were printed onto fabric and stretched onto frames.

I also explored the medium of enamelling onto steel, and created a large wall panel, that has been enamelled, and drawn over through either etching or screen printing. The panels have also been drilled and stitched into with thick yarns and thread, creating a textured surface that makes you want to touch it, much like the way I walk through the Palm House at Kew and can't help but touch all the textured leaves!
